Lesson 6. Case: “Luxury Reiki”, ringing transmission line and showcase on b17
Lesson 6. Case: “Luxury Reiki”, ringing transmission line and showcase on b17
In previous lessons, we analyzed the business model of reiki schools in the abstract: funnels, prices, legal status of the diploma. This lesson is an analysis of one specific example. This makes it easier to see how the same techniques form a recognizable design. All facts below are taken from open sources;where data is incomplete or controversial, this is explicitly noted. The goal is not to “expose a person,” but to show what to look for before handing over money.
1. Lineage: Japanese names at the beginning, Western masters in the middle
One of the chains declared in the Russian Reiki information business looks like this:
Mikao Usui → Suzuki San → Chris Marsh → Taggart King → Benedikt Karaush → Miroslav Zhiva → Ma Atma Ruchira → Veronika Krainova → Ilona Amari → Olesya Dobrovolskaya.
Let’s sort the links according to the degree of verifiability:
- Mikao Usui(1865–1926) — historically confirmed.
- Suzuki San → Chris Marsh— controversial link.Briton Chris Marsh claimed to have studied with an elderly student, Usui. Most reiki researchers (eg Frank Arthur Petter, Justin Stein) have been unable to confirm this;this is widely disputed within the community.
- Taggart King— real master, founder of Reiki Evolution (UK).This is a Western modification of the system, not a Japanese “authenticity”.
- Benedikt Karaush, Miroslav Ziva— minimal independent presence, difficult to verify.
- Ma Atma Ruchira— Russian author of books about Reiki, creator of the author’s systems «Tantra-Reiki» and «Bija-Reiki».Spiritual name;the present is not revealed.
- Veronica Krainova— clinical psychologist, transactional analyst;Reiki is an additional activity for her.
Line output. The first links (Usui → Suzuki San → Chris Marsh) are historically questionable, followed by a series of little-known Western masters.Essentially the line goes through the Briton Taggart King and several unverifiable intermediaries — this is the Western branch, despite the Japanese names at the beginning. The Japanese sound of names here functions as a marketing sign of «antiquity» rather than as proof of a continuous Japanese tradition. As we said in Lesson 2: Ask not “does the line sound good,” but “which links can be independently verified.”
2. “Luxury Reiki” — reiki as a tool for attracting money
In the price lists of such schools, next to the classical levels, the author’s “systems” appear: “Moon Reiki”, “Money Reiki”, “Luxury Reiki” (Reiki of full wealth). It is important to understand: Luxury Reiki is not the invention of one master, but a widespread product of the Russian Reiki information business. It is offered by several sites at once (for example, reiki-vesna.ru, reiki-newlife.com, nataniell.ru and others).
What is sold under this sign: “reiki style for attracting large cash flows and luxury”, initiation into “Luxury energy”, collective meditations of abundance, “map of desires”.At the same time, Mikao Usui taught reiki as a system of spiritual self-improvement — and not as a technology for attracting money.“Wealth Reiki” is an author’s superstructure without a historical basis in the original tradition.
For example, a typical price list by level in such a school: 3rd level — 29,000 rubles in a group or 45,000 rubles individually;“cash” and “luxury” systems are sold as separate modules. This is the business model from Lesson 4 in its purest form: a basic tradition plus an expanding catalog of custom add-ons, each with its own price tag.
3. Qualification showcase: profile on b17.ru
A separate technique is a link to a profile on a reputable site as “proof” of qualifications.Example: a page on the psychological portal b17.ru indicating specializations (psychodynamics, transpersonal psychology, family therapy) and regalia.
Here’s what you need to look at critically:
- Minimum profile. The page on the site itself does not say anything about the practice if it does not have a detailed description, reviews and activity.A profile “for show” — so that you have something to show in response to the question “where to find you.”
- Method of obtaining regalia. For example, registration with a professional association through “grandfathering” (mass admission without a standardized exam) is not the same as certification through the full procedure.
- «Community of Professionals».If a school claims to have dozens of “certified masters,” but when checking open sources, only a few are found to have an independent presence (their own websites, social networks, reviews on independent platforms), which means that the “global community” exists mainly within one platform.
Checklist for this case
- Japanese names at the beginning of a line ≠ Japanese tradition.Check the middle links.
- “Wealth Reiki / Luxury / Money” is an author’s commercial add-on, and not part of the Usui system.
- A profile on a reputable portal is not a certification.Look at the content, reviews, and how to obtain regalia.
- A “community of dozens of artists” is verified by a simple search to see if they have an independent presence outside of one platform.
Disclaimer. The material is based on open sources as of June 2026 and is analytical in nature. Some of the data (individual links in the transmission line, biographical details) are controversial or not independently verified — this is noted in the text. The purpose of the lesson is to provide a testing tool, not an assessment of specific people.Reiki is a practice for overall well-being;it is not a medical service and does not replace the help of a doctor or psychologist.
