How Popular Reiki Schools Operate: Just the Facts. Lesson 4 of 5
Anatomy of a Typical Reiki School
Important disclaimer: this article uses only publicly verifiable facts — data from state registries, official websites, and regulators. The goal is not to condemn specific people, but to show how a typical Reiki school business model is structured.
Legal Structure
Commercial activity is registered under IE Belosludtseva Margarita Viktorovna (INN 771701785426). In parallel, the online publication «Reiki in Our Lives» is registered (EL No. FS 77-84293, Roskomnadzor), editor-in-chief — Kozlova Irina Alexandrovna.
- IE in daughter’s name — commercial activity (course sales) is separated from the school’s public face. This is standard practice for separating reputational and financial risks.
- Media status — a registered media outlet creates the appearance of an official publication. Articles from the «editorial team» look more authoritative than social media posts.
«Psychotherapist of the European Registry»
EAP (European Association for Psychotherapy) is a private professional association founded in Vienna in 1990. Membership is paid and voluntary. It is not a state document in any country, including Russia. In Russia, it does not grant the right to psychotherapeutic practice — for that a Russian medical licence in the specialty «psychotherapy» is required.
The Sales Funnel
- Free YouTube channel (audience attraction)
- Free webinar or PDF guide (contact collection)
- Level 1 Reiki, 10,000–22,000 ₽
- Level 2, from 12,000 ₽
- Level 3 (Master), from 29,000 ₽
- Level 4 (Master-Teacher / «diploma»), 95,000 ₽
This is a classic infobusiness value ladder. It works — both in online marketing courses and online Reiki courses. There is nothing illegal in the structure itself. The question is what is sold at each level and what promises are made.
Comparison: Inamoto vs. Russian Schools
| Hyakuten Inamoto | Typical Russian school | |
|---|---|---|
| Lineage | 4 links, verified | Through Takata, often incomplete |
| Medical education | No | No (or EAP — not a Russian diploma) |
| Master-level price | ~95,000 ₽ | ~95,000 ₽ |
| Online initiations | Partially since 2020 | Yes, widespread |
| Legal guarantees to student | None | None |
The only real difference with Inamoto is a cleaner lineage. By all other parameters, the business model is identical.
What This Means
This is not fraud. People come for sessions and get relaxation — that is real. Schools operate within the law — that too is fact. The problem is different: a mismatch between what is promised and what is guaranteed. Students are sold a profession — but are not given tools to protect that profession under changed conditions.
Lesson 5 → What to do instead of Reiki if you need a real profession. Three paths with a real evidence base.
